This is spot-on what I have been feeling in my bones. The tear in the fabric of the world is the division sown between people. The individualization, the atomization, the racialization, have all played a part in this dehumanization process. The Ukrainian war has brought all this to the surface. My father was living in Poland, not far from Lviv when the Nazi’s and Russians invaded eighty three years ago. He ran for his life. Every country he ran to was subsequently invaded. It is a miracle he made it. It’s a miracle I am here. Whenever I have shared this story, whatever the race or political leanings, I have found connection in sharing it. Stories rehumanizes us.
